The telecast of the American Theatre Wing's 60th Annual Tony Awards® on CBS (the 2006 awards) was honored at the Creative Arts Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony on September 8, 2007.

The Tony telecast received the Outstanding Special Class Program award.

The victory marks the second Tony telecast Emmy Award for Executive Producers Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss of White Cherry Entertainment. They previously won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Special in 2005 for the 58th Annual Tony Awards. Kirshner and Weiss have served as executive producers of the Tony Awards telecast for the past four years.

Musical Director Elliott Lawrence had also been nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Music Direction of the 60th Annual Tony Awards. He is the past recipient of three Emmy Awards, in addition to twelve other previous Emmy Award nominations.
