David Hyde Pierce, the 2007 Tony Award® winner as Best Actor in a Musical for Curtains, will join Monty Python's Spamalot original cast member (and 2005 Tony Award-winner) Sara Ramirez to announce the American Theatre Wing’s 62nd Annual Antoinette Perry “Tony” Awards® nominations on May 13.

Broadway’s most coveted awards will be distributed at Radio City Music Hall on June 15. The 2008 Tony ceremony will be broadcast on CBS beginning at 8:00 p.m/7c. Nominations will be announced on May 13.

Visa Signature Tony Awards Preview Concert - The stars come out on a TV special that previews the 2008 Tonys. The event includes concert-style numbers from the season’s 12 new musical productions, up-close and personal interviews with some of this year’s Tony nominees, and a look at all the shows currently running on Broadway. Tune in to WCBS-TV in New York City at 7:00 p.m. on June 7, as well as other CBS affiliates across the country in the weeks following Memorial Day (check local listings).

The 62nd Annual Tony Awards

The 2008 Tony Awards will be telecast live in a three-hour special on the CBS television network beginning at 8:00 p.m./7c (delayed PT).

Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss of White Cherry Entertainment will return as Executive Producers of the Tonys, and Mr. Weiss will direct the telecast for the ninth consecutive year. Presented by Tony Award Productions, a joint venture of The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing, the Tonys have been broadcast on CBS every year since 1978. The ceremony was first held at Radio City in 1997, and since then it has returned there each June except during the year the Hall was closed for renovations.

The 2008 awards ceremony will mark the debut of two new honors: Tony Awards for Best Sound Design of a Play and Best Sound Design of a Musical.
