Spotlight On: The Anarchist

A new play by David Mamet that starred Patti LuPone as a prisoner and Debra Winger as her jailer.

The Anarchist


Theatrical fireworks were on the menu when one character, put away for life, wants out while the other wants to make sure she stays inside. This new two-hander by David Mamet is about passion, redemption, deception, and revolution. Patti LuPone played the title character opposite Debra Winger as a prison official.

  • Mamet was also represented on Broadway this year with a revival of his play Glengarry Glen Ross.
