Steven Pasquale and Kelli O'Hara star in a story about a devoted Iowa housewife and her unlikely love affair with a National Geographic photographer, based on the best-selling novel.
Stephen Pasquale and four-time past Tony Award-nominee Kelli O’Hara star in a new musical about the roads we travel, the doors we open and the bridges we dare to cross. Director Bartlett Sher says The Bridges of Madison County “takes us deep into the heart of our country and the very moving situation of a beautiful young woman leaving Italy and suddenly living in Iowa, and her joyful discovery of love and painful but rewarding sacrifice.” The score is by Jason Robert Brown, book by Marsha Norman, based on the novel by Robert James Waller.
The pre-Broadway world premiere of The Bridges of Madison County took place in Massachusetts at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in the summer of 2013. The musical is based on Robert James Waller’s best-selling 1992 novel of the same title, which was made into a 1995 feature film directed by and starring Clint Eastwood, with Meryl Streep.
