ABOUT THE SHOW
On a bitterly cold London evening, Kyra Hollis (Carey Mulligan) receives an unexpected visit from her one-time boss and former lover, Tom Sergeant (Bill Nighy). As the evening progresses, the two attempt to rekindle their once passionate relationship, only to find themselves locked in a dangerous battle of opposing ideologies and mutual desires.
- Bill Nighy has a great deal of experience playing the role of Tom Sergeant. He appeared in a previous 1997 West End staging of the play at the Vaudeville Theatre.
- The current production was captured live on HD video in London and broadcast via NT Live to cinemas worldwide.
David Hare’s play debuted in London in May, 1995 at the National Theatre’s Cottesloe Theatre. The production then transferred to the West End, and subsequently to Broadway, where it opened at the Royale Theatre in September, 1996. This new production transferred from London, where it opened in June, 2014.
