The Tony Awards Administration Committee met on March 19 for the third time this season to decide the eligibility of Broadway productions for the American Theatre Wing's 2015 Tony Awards®, presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing. The Committee will continue to meet regularly throughout the 2014-2015 Broadway season to make eligibility determinations.

The Committee considered two shows at this meeting from among the Broadway productions that opened this winter. Other shows will be discussed at future meetings. The shows considered are, in opening-night order:

Constellations; Honeymoon in Vegas

The Committee announced the following:

  • Jake Gyllenhaal and Ruth Wilson will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by an Actor/Actress in a Leading Role in a Play categories for their respective performances in Constellations.
  • Tony Danza will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical category for his performance in Honeymoon in Vegas.

All other decisions were consistent with the opening night credits.

What that means: In general, unless the committee has determined otherwise, performers listed ABOVE the title on the show’s opening-night playbill may be eligible in the Leading Actor/Actress categories; if a performer is listed BELOW the title, he or she is considered a "Featured" performer.
