Watch the 2018 Tony Award Nominations, Presented by IBM, in a Live Webcast on May 1

Each spring the entire Broadway community holds its collective breath, waiting to find out which shows and artists will receive nominations for the American Theatre Wing’s Tony Awards®.

This year all will be revealed via a livestream on the Tony Awards Facebook page, which you can also watch here at TonyAwards.com. The honor of unveiling the list of 2018 nominees will go to Katharine McPhee, a recording artist and TV star now making her Broadway debut in the musical Waitress; and Broadway star/Carnegie Mellon University alum Leslie Odom, Jr., who appeared with McPhee on Smash and won a Tony Award as the original “Aaron Burr” in Hamilton.

The Nominations Announcement webcast will begin at 8:30 a.m. ET on Tuesday, May 1. CBS This Morning will cover the event, and you can watch the event in its entirety on our Facebook page, as well as on TonyAwards.com and other platforms (see below).

Productions that opened during the 2017-2018 Broadway season on or before the April 26 cut-off date may be eligible for Tony Awards this year in the 26 competitive categories.

The 72nd Annual Tony Awards hosted by Broadway stars Sara Bareilles and Josh Groban will take place on Sunday, June 10. The ceremony will be broadcast on CBS live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City at 8/7c (delayed PT). About Katharine McPhee

Katharine McPhee is currently making her Broadway debut in Waitress. Since vaulting to fame as a captivating singer on “American Idol,” Season 5, she’s become a successful recording artist, landing numerous songs and albums on Billboard’s pop, jazz, holiday and adult-contemporary charts. Her latest album of timeless American standards I Fall in Love Too Easily was released by BMG in 2017. As an acclaimed actress, she was the breakout star of the 2013 NBC-TV musical series Smash, Executive Produced by Steven Spielberg with music and lyrics by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman (Hairspray). She’s currently starring in the hit CBS dramatic series Scorpion.

About Leslie Odom, Jr.

Tony and Grammy Award-winning performer Leslie Odom Jr. has taken the entertainment world by storm across a variety of media – spanning Broadway, television, film, and music. This spring, Odom Jr. adds the title of “Author” to his resume with the release of his book Failing Up: How to Take Risks, Aim Higher, and Never Stop Learning. He will next be seen starring alongside Freida Pinto in Only from writer-director Takashi Doscher. In December 2017, Odom Jr. returned to the New York City stage in a solo concert at Jazz at Lincoln Center which was filmed as an hour-long PBS special for Live From Lincoln Center. It will premiere April 24, 2018.

Odom Jr.’s albums include his self-titled debut album and the holiday album Simply Christmas.

Best known for his breakout role as “Aaron Burr” in the smash-hit Broadway musical Hamilton, Odom Jr. received a 2015 Drama Desk Award nomination and won the Tony Award as Best Actor in a Musical for his performance. He also won a Grammy Award as a principal soloist on the original cast recording. He made his Broadway debut in Rent and starred in the stage adaption of Leap of Faith. Off Broadway he appeared in Venice and the original staging of Hamilton, both at the Public Theater. He also starred opposite Lin-Manuel Miranda and Karen Olivo in a 2014 City Center Encores! revival of Jonathan Larson’s Tick, Tick ... Boom!.

Odom Jr. was most recently seen on the big screen starring alongside Johnny Depp, Daisy Ridley, Penelope Cruz, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Judi Dench in Kenneth Branagh’s Murder on the Orient Express. Previous film work includes the 2012 historical drama Red Tails, executive produced by George Lucas and co-starring Terrence Howard, Cuba Gooding, Jr., and David Oyelowo, among others.

On the small screen, Odom Jr. starred on the cult-classic musical drama series Smash. He had recurring roles on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Persons of Interest and CSI: Miami and made guest appearances on such shows as The Good Wife, Gotham, and House of Lies.

Odom Jr. currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife, fellow actress Nicolette Robinson, and baby daughter.
