Audemars Piguet to Sponsor Luxury Green Room & Red Carpet at the 67th Annual Tony Awards ®
2013 Tony Awards to Broadcast LIVE on CBS, Sunday, June 9th
New York, NY (June 8, 2012) – The Tony Awards have announced that Audemars Piguet, the luxury watchmaker, will host the 2013 Tony Awards Audemars Piguet Green Room backstage at the 67th Annual Tony Awards. The 2013 Tony Awards, which are presented by the American Theatre Wing and The Broadway League, will broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, June 9th (8:00 ET/PT time delay) on CBS.
Audemars Piguet (www.audemarspiguet.com) will return for a third year, as the title sponsor of the Green Room. Audemars Piguet customized a private retreat backstage at Radio City Music Hall for presenters and nominees to enjoy during the show. The space will feature four vitrines, highlighting 12 Audemars Piguet watches. To celebrate the Tony Awards, Audemars Piguet will make a donation of $1,500 to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS for each of the Tony Award presenters who agree to have Audemars Piguet and Tony’s tweet a photo of the presenter signing the Audemars Piguet clock. This Audemars Piguet Tony Awards Clock will be auctioned off after the show to help raise funds for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
In support of their presenting red carpet sponsorship, Audemars Piguet has once again teamed up with Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS to create a unique auction off Audemars Piguet wall clocks. The eight one-of-a-kind aluminum wall clocks will be displayed along the red carpet and were decorated by the nominees for Best Musical and Best Musical Revival (Bring It On: The Musical, A Christmas Story The Musical, Kinky Boots, Matilda The Musical, Annie,
The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Pippin, Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella ) to represent each one of this season’s musicals. A ninth clock was signed by nominated actors attending last month’s Meet the Nominees reception. The auction opens from June 10thth through June 24th on leading charity auction site www.charitybuzz.com.
