Patrick Barlow’s comic adaptation of John Buchan’s classic spy thriller The 39 Steps revolves around an innocent man who learns too much about a dangerous spy ring. He witnesses a murder before being pursued across Scotland, after which he returns to London to foil the villain’s dastardly plans.

History
This comedy is based on the 1935 Alfred Hithcock film version of Buchan's novel. The 39 Steps was originally presented on stage by North Country Theatre in 1996 at the Georgian Theatre in North Yorkshire. It played London's West End last year, and subsequently received its American debut at the Huntington Theatre Company in Boston, MA.


 About the Author:
This is Barlow's first Tony nomination. He is an Olivier Award-winning actor, comedian, and playwright who works primarily in England.
