This new one-woman play brings us face to face with a complex, colorful and captivating character bigger than the state from which she hailed. Written and performed by Emmy Award-winner Holland Taylor, Ann takes a revealing look at the impassioned woman who dedicated her life to enriching the lives of her constituents, friends and family.

Holland Taylor first performed the show at Galveston's Grand 1894 Opera House in the summer of 2010, followed by developmental productions elsewhere in Texas and acclaimed engagements at Chicago's Bank of America Theatre and Washington DC's Kennedy Center.


  • Playwright/star Holland Taylor has been named an “Honorary Texan” by Governor Rick Perry.
  • Ann began as a quest for author/performer Holland Taylor to understand what it was about this housewife, mother, grandmother, leader and iconic patriot that affected so many people so deeply.
  • The offstage voice of the Governor's secretary is provided by past Tony Award-winner (and Texan) Julie White.
