Dominique Serrand

Regional Theatre Tony Award®

Regional Theatre Award: Dominique Serrand, Theatre de la Jeune Lune, Minneapolis, Minnesota

This is truly a great honor. Thanks to the Wing, to the League. We, Barbara Berlovitz, Steve Epp, Vincent Gracieux, Robert Rosen, Steve Richardson and myself, Dominique Serrand, are Theatre de la Jeune Lune. Theatre of the new moon, the moon that holds for one night long the old moon in its arms. We look to the past and embrace the present like the companies of Shakespeare and Molière. Radical theatres, radical from the word root. A theatre born and bred by artists.

This award celebrates all who fight to create and we invite the next generation to embrace the power and freedom of their imagination. We thank the man who taught us, Jacques Lecocq. An eternal thanks to the courageous ones who have taken the risk to support and fund our work; to our loyal audience in Minneapolis and all the artists with whom we have had the pleasure to work. This is for all of us and finally to our families who have joined us on the journey with your abiding support, sacrifice and devotion. We are forever grateful. Thank you.
