Bob Martin and Don McKellar, for The Drowsy Chaperone

The Drowsy Chaperone was first created as a gift for Bob Martin and the comedian Janet Van De Graaff at a celebration of their 1998 marriage. Martin is the writer and producer of the Sundance Channel series "Slings and Arrows." This is his Broadway debut and his first Tony nomination.

After beginning his career in experimental theatre, Don McKellar switched to screenwriting. The Drowsy Chaperone marks his return to writing for the stage, his Broadway debut, and his first Tony nomination.

Lisa performed the title role in four Toronto incarnations of The Drowsy Chaperone on its way to Broadway. This is her first Tony nomination.

Greg Morrison is a songwriter for TV's "Slings & Arrows" (Sundance Channel) and "The Joe Blow Show" (Comedy Network). This is his first Tony nomination.

Nicholas Hytner
Nicholas Hytner, for The History Boys

The director of the National Theatre in London, Nicholas Hytner has previously been nominated for three Tony awards. He won in 1994 for his direction of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Carousel. His previous collaborations with Alan Bennett include the play The Madness of George III and its film adaptation, The Madness of King George.

John Doyle
John Doyle, for Sweeney Todd
Winner  Speech
Sweeney Todd, which he directed and designed, marks John Doyle's Broadway debut and first Tony nomination. He is has been artistic director of four prestigious regional theatres in the UK. For the last 10 years he has explored aspects of actor-musicianship as an associate director of the England's Watermill Theatre.

Kathleen Marshall
Kathleen Marshall, for The Pajama Game
Winner  Speech
Director-choreographer Kathleen Marshall has previously been nominated for three Tony Awards. She was nominated for her direction of Wonderful Town (2004) and her choreography of Kiss Me Kate (2000). She won a Tony for choreographing Wonderful Town.

Sarah Travis
Sarah Travis, for Sweeney Todd

Sarah Travis is a composer as well as an orchestrator. She trained at the City University and Guildhall School of Music and Drama in the UK. This is her first Tony nomination and her Broadway debut.
Best Scenic Design of a Play
Bob Crowley
Bob Crowley, for The History Boys
Winner  Speech
Bob Crowley designed both sets and costumes for The History Boys. He did the same for this season's Tarzan, which he also directed. This is his tenth Tony nomination. He has won two Tonys as scenic designer, for The Invention of Love and Aida.

David Gallo
David Gallo, for The Drowsy Chaperone

David Gallo started his Broadway career in 1993 as an assistant on The Who's Tommy. Since then, he has worked on 20 Broadway shows. He was nominated last year for Best Scenic Design of a Play for his work on Gem of the Ocean.

Catherine Zuber
Catherine Zuber, for Awake and Sing!
Winner  Speech
Catherine Zuber has previously been nominated for three Tonys, winning last year for her costume design of The Light in the Piazza.

Gregg Barnes
Gregg Barnes, for The Drowsy Chaperone
Winner  Speech
Greg Barnes has been the costume designer for Broadway productions of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Flower Drum Song and Side Show. He was nominated for a Tony in 2003 for his work on Flower Drum Song.

Mark Henderson
Mark Henderson, for The History Boys
Winner
Mark Henderson works primarily in London, where has has received four Olivier Awards. He has previously received three Tony nominations for lighting design.

Howell Binkley
Howell Binkley, for Jersey Boys
Winner
Howell Binkley worked with Jersey Boys director Des McAnuff on the Tony Award-winning revival of How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. He was previously nominated in 1993 for his work on Kiss of the Spider Woman.
