The 2016 Tony Awards® was broadcast on four continents thanks to The Fremantle Corporation and the official international broadcast partners for the 70th Annual Tony Awards. The telecast aired on the following networks – scheduled as listed – across the globe:

International Broadcasts

  • United Kingdom - Elaine Paige will host a special program on BBC Radio 2 covering the 70th Annual Tony Awards, including performances from the ceremony. The special will be broadcast from 8-10pm BST on Friday, June 17, and repeated on Sunday, June 19 at 1pm BST. 
  • Canada –  Bell's CTV – Airs live, Sunday, June 12, at 8E/9ATL.
  • Latin America, Central and South America – PRAMER’S FILM & ARTS (AMC) 
  • New ZealandSky Network Arts Channel
  • AustraliaFoxtel Arena Channel – Airs live, Monday, June 13, at 10am AEST with an encore screening at 8:30pm AEST.

For the first-time ever, as an Official Sponsor of the 70th Annual Tony Awards and Presenting Sponsor of the Behind the Scenes Livestream, BroadwayHD will join forces with the Tony Awards to stream exclusive backstage content, including first reaction interviews with award winners moments after they receive their Awards, real-time reactions as winners are announced and behind-the-scenes looks as casts prepare to perform onstage and more. Coverage begins at 8:00 p.m. ET (GMT -4) at 

The 2016 Tony Awards - hosted by James Corden – will be broadcast on Sunday, June 12, 2016 (8:00 – 11:00 p.m. ET/PT time delay) on the CBS Television Network, live from the Beacon Theatre in New York City.

For the second year, CBS All Access will offer an outlet for fans to watch the Awards live on their phones, tablets or computers (live stream is available in select markets. Visit for details).

The Tony Awards, which honors theatre professionals for distinguished achievement on Broadway, has been broadcast on CBS since 1978. The Tony Awards are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing.
