An "After Dark Comedy" by Steve Martin starring Amy Schumer.
ABOUT THE SHOW
It's a hot night in Ojai, California, and Corky and her husband, Norm, are having another couple over for dinner. Laura and Gerald, though, aren't looking for a casual evening of polite small talk with new friends. Eventually, the two couples find themselves in a marital free-fall matched in velocity and peril only by the smoldering space rocks tearing through the sky.
Eligible Performers in Leading Roles: Amy Schumer and Jeremy Shamos
- Keegan-Michael Key and Amy Schumer made their Broadway debuts in this production, while castmates Laura Benanti (a past Tony-winner and 5-time nominee) and Jeremy Shamos (a past Tony-nominee) are Broadway veterans.
- Playwright Steve Martin is well known for his career in film and television, as well as in comedy and as a novelist. However, this is not his first Broadway production. He was nominated for Best Score and Best Book of a Musical for his musical Bright Star in 2016, and performed on that year’s Tony Awards telecast. He was also a producer of the 2002 Broadway revival of The Elephant Man.
premiered at San Diego’s Old Globe Theatre in 2016, in a co-production with the Long Wharf Theatre where the play was subsequently staged.
