ABOUT THE SHOW

Ti Moune, a fearless peasant girl, falls in love with a wealthy boy from the other side of the island. When their divided cultures threaten to keep them apart, Ti Moune, guided by the island gods, sets out on a remarkable quest to reunite with the man who has captured her heart.

HISTORY

Once On This Island premiered Off Broadway at Playwrights Horizons in 1990 before transferring to Broadway’s Booth Theatre. It was nominated for eight Tony Awards. The show’s West End production opened in 1994, winning the 1995 Olivier Award as Best New Musical.
