Ronnie Winslow is expelled from school for stealing, and it has a resounding effect on the entire family. His father must pool his resources to hire a lawyer for the boy’s defense. His brother begrudgingly drops out of college and gets a banking job to help with the legal costs. And the fallout from this unexpected predicament puts his sister Catherine's engagement in jeopardy. Though they are determined to defend Ronnie, will the family’s sacrifices be enough to clear his reputation and the Winslow name? Past Tony Award®-winner Roger Rees and past-nominees Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio and Michael Cumpsty star in a new production of Terence Rattigan’s classic play.

  • Rattigan’s play was inspired by an actual event in British history: the case of Stonyhurst College alumnus George Archer-Shee, a cadet at Osborne in 1908, who was accused of stealing a postal order from a fellow cadet.
  • Roundabout Theatre Company revived another Rattigan play about a father and son, Man and Boy, on Broadway in 2011.

The Winslow Boy premiered in London in 1946 and on Broadway a year later. This is its first Broadway revival, in a new Roundabout Theatre Company production from The Old Vic in London. There was a popular 1948 film adaptation, as well as a 1999 remake directed by David Mamet.
