ABOUT THE SHOW
Elisabeth Moss returns to Broadway as Heidi Holland – a woman willing to do what it takes to take on the world – in The Heidi Chronicles. This remarkable comedy follows one woman’s three-decade journey of trial and triumph as she grows from an insecure girl brimming with hope into an accomplished woman still searching for truth. The first Broadway revival of Wendy Wasserstein’s Tony Award-winning Best Play also stars Jason Biggs, Bryce Pinkham and Tracee Chimo.
The title of the pilot for the TV sitcom Seinfeld was The Seinfeld Chronicles. This was reportedly a reference to Wasserstein’s play, which was running on Broadway at the time the show aired.
With The Heidi Chronicles, Wendy Wasserstein became the first woman to win the Tony Award as the solo author of a Best Play.
The Heidi Chronicles was first produced Off Broadway by Playwrights Horizons in the fall of 1988. The production transferred to Broadway and received the 1989 Tony Award as Best Play. Wasserstein wrote the screenplay for a 1995 television film based on the play.
