City National Bank, America’s Premier Private and Business Bank®, will return as the official bank of the Tony Awards® under a new five-year sponsorship agreement. The Tony Awards, presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing, and hosted by Sara Bareilles and Josh Groban, will air live on CBS on Sunday, June 10, 2018.

For more than 60 years, City National Bank has served the financial needs of the entertainment industry. City National opened its New York office in 2002 and began providing banking services to Broadway with Spamalot. City National now provides banking services to roughly half of all Broadway shows, including Dear Evan Hansen, Harry Potter and The Cursed Child, Mean Girls, and Angels in America.

“Sponsoring the Tony Awards is a wonderful honor for City National. We are pleased to support the arts and entertainment industry, especially Broadway, the cultural heart of New York City and an economic engine for this city,” said Samantha Davies, senior vice president and senior marketing manager for City National Bank. “We are so honored to be a part of this community.”

“We are thrilled to have the continued partnership of City National Bank,” said Heather Hitchens, President and CEO of the American Theatre Wing and Charlotte St. Martin, President of The Broadway League. “Their support of the Tony Awards and to our creative community allows us to shine a spotlight on the incredible talents behind the scenes who bring Broadway stages and productions to life each and every night.”

City National became the official bank to the Tony Awards in 2014 and will now continue for the next five years. As part of this new multiyear sponsorship, City National will be the sponsor of the Creative Arts Awards, which honors achievements in behind-the-scenes categories such as lighting and costume design.

The Creative Arts Awards include:

Best Sound Design of a Play/Musical; Best Costume Design of a Play/Musical; Best Scenic Design of a Play/Musical; Best Lighting Design of a Play/Musical; Best Book; Best Score (Music and/or Lyrics) Written for the Theatre; Best Orchestrations; and Best Choreography.

The Tony Nominations will be announced live, by Leslie Odom, Jr. and Katharine McPhee, on Tuesday, May 2, 2018, on TonyAwards.com.
