Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption – a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. The magnificent score includes the classic songs “I Dreamed a Dream,” “On My Own,” “Stars,” “Bring Him Home,” “Do You Hear the People Sing?,” “One Day More,” “Empty Chairs at Empty Tables,” “Master of the House,” and many more.

Based on the novel of the same title by Victor Hugo, Les Misérables was originally released as a French-language concept album, and later staged in Paris. The English-language version opened in London in 1985, produced by Cameron Mackintosh and the Royal Shakespeare Company, and is still running. The musical first opened on Broadway in 1987 and won 8 Tony Awards including Best Musical. The show was revived on Broadway in 2006, and a feature film adaptation was released in 2012.
