ABOUT THE SHOW
Jim leaves the bright lights of show business behind to settle down on his farmhouse in Connecticut...but life just isn't the same without a bit of song and dance. Jim's luck takes a spectacular turn when he meets Linda, a spirited schoolteacher with talent to spare. Together they turn the farmhouse into a fabulous inn with dazzling performances to celebrate each holiday, from Thanksgiving to the Fourth of July. But when Jim's best friend Ted tries to lure Linda away to be his new dance partner in Hollywood, will Jim be able to salvage his latest chance at love?
- The 1942 original film version of Holiday Inn was a wartime hit for Paramount Pictures, starring Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire.
- The Irving Berlin song “White Christmas” is said to be the most recorded Christmas song of all time, and the Bing Crosby version holds the Guinness Book of World Records title as the greatest-selling single of all time. However, when the film came out, the studio expected the Valentine’s Day song, “Be Careful It’s My Heart,” to be the bigger hit.
The world premiere of Holiday Inn took place at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, Connecticut in the fall of 2014. The musical’s new book is inspired by the Academy Award-winning film of the same title.
