ABOUT THE SHOW
Ayad Akhtar's new play is the story of Robert Merkin's assault on American capitalism's holy of holies, the "deal of the decade," in his attempt to takeover an iconic American manufacturing company and, in the process, to change all the rules. What Merkin sets in motion is nothing less than a financial civil war, pitting magnates against workers, lawyers against journalists, and ultimately, pitting every one against themselves.

- Ayad Akhtar’s previous Broadway play, Disgraced, received a 2015 Tony Award nomination as Best Play. He is also the author of the 2012 novel American Dervish.
- The play is a fictionalized account the recalls the rise of junk bond traders such as Michael Milken in the Wall Street world of the 1980s.
The world premiere of Junk took place at California’s La Jolla Playhouse in 2016.
