A Directors Guild Award Win for the 2012 Tony Awards

Glenn Weiss has been honored with a Directors Guild of America Award for his work on the 2012 Tony Awards® telecast. The 2013 DGA Awards ceremony took place on February 2.

The Tony show was recognized in the category Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Musical Variety.  The award goes to Director Glenn Weiss. Mr.  Weiss also served as Executive Producer of the 66th Annual Tony Awards telecast, with Ricky Kirshner.

Neil Patrick Harris hosted “The 66th Annual Tony Awards”, which was broadcast on CBS on June 10, 2012. The entire program is available to download in HD on and iTunes.

This is Mr. Weiss’ fourth DGA Award. He won the DGA Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Musical Variety in 2007, 2010 and 2011 for the 61st, 64th and 65th Annual Tony Awards. He was previously nominated in this category in 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006 and 2008, all for the 55th, 56th, 59th, 60th, and 62nd Annual Tony Awards.
