Set to the iconic pop music of The Go-Go’s, this new musical is an unpredictable Elizabethan romp about a royal family that must prevent an oracle's prophecy of doom. In order to save their beloved kingdom, the family embarks on an extravagant journey where they are faced with mistaken identities, love triangles, sexual awakening, and self-discovery.

Trivia

The whimsical plot of the musical is loosely taken from The Countess of Pembroke's Arcadia, a pastoral romance written by 16th century British author Sir Philip Sidney.

The set featured a Latin motto inscribed atop the proscenium: “HABEMVS PERCVSSIO,” which translates as, “We got the beat.”

History

The musical has its world premiere at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, Oregon in 2015. A pre-Broadway tryout took place at San Francisco’s Curran Theatre in the spring of 2018.
